2001年起任教於上海音樂學院鋼琴系及上音附中至今。主編2006年，2020年版上海音樂學院全國考級教材。中國第一位海歸任教的施坦威簽約鋼琴家，2017獲邀赴紐約錄制施坦威新銳Spirio大師曲集庫。2015起受邀擔任福建省藝術教育協會鋼琴專業委員會主任。
鐘聽出生於上海，4歲開始學琴，1982年考入上海音樂學院附中，師從蕭酩教授。1989年獲全額獎學金赴美深造，曾就讀於紐約茱莉亞音樂學院，師從Herbert Stessin教授及曼哈頓音樂學院，師從Constance Keene教授並取得演奏碩士文憑。1992年曾獲得全美音樂教師協會全國鋼琴大賽首獎；1995年－2000年連續五年獲坎貝爾藝術基金會藝術家獎。鐘聽以他驚人的藝術魅力獲得主流媒體的報導：美國新聞有線電視網CNN、《紐約時報》、《美國世界日報》、《人民日報海外版》、上海東方文藝頻道、中國中央電視台等報導。他的演出足跡遍及世界各地，包括紐約林肯中心、卡內基音樂廳、巴黎卡渥音樂廳、上海大劇院、上海東方藝術中心，莫斯科大廳、台北中正文化中心音樂廳、北京音樂廳等地。鐘聽回國任教以後，在國內很多大師班舉行專題講座，廣受好評。學生多人次在國際國內比賽中獲獎。其中特別是來自台灣，曾就讀於上海音樂學院附中的陳涵，於2013年獲得第六屆中國國際鋼琴比賽(廈門)金獎。是迄今為止中國鋼琴海歸教師培養學生獲得的最高國際榮譽。鐘聽教授的畢業學生們每年都取得如美國茱莉亞，曼哈頓，新英格蘭等世界一流音樂學院的全額獎學金並赴美留學。
作為鋼琴活動家及教育家，鐘聽於2006年創辦首屆上海音樂學院「山德杯」海峽兩岸鋼琴比賽藝術總監。2007年在美國加州創辦了「泛太平洋國際夏令營暨比賽」並擔任藝術總監，由紐約施坦威鋼琴公司贊助。之後多次舉辦此項目，獲美國主流媒體報道。是國內首批成功開發此類項目的先鋒。2013年起多次擔任＂中華好琴聲＂全國鋼琴比賽藝術總監。

Hall in London, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Bonkakaikan in Tokyo, Scottish Royal Opera House in Glasgow, Taipei National Concert Hall . Since moving back to China in the year of 2001, Mr. Zhong has concertized with leading symphony orchestras throughout mainland China.
Christopher Zhong was born in Shanghai. After receiving professional training from the Middle School affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 1988, he then continued his education from the prestigious Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music and graduated with a master’s degree. His teachers including: Mr. Herbert Stessin, from The Juilliard School ,Miss Constance Keene, Manhattan School of Music. From 1995 till 2000 , Christopher Zhong was a recipient of Clarisse B. Kampel Foundation
(New York based)Career Grant Award. Christopher Zhong has been serving as director of Professional Piano Education Committee
of Fujian Province. Artistic Director of “Greattone China” National Competition. He has also frequently served as a jury member for many international as well as national competitions in China.
Mr. Christopher Zhong lives with his wife Kuan-wen Wang in Shanghai. Mr. and Mrs. Zhong have been teaching as piano faculty members at Shanghai Conservatory of Music since the year of 2001. Their students have won many national and international piano competitions, especially Mr. Han Chen, he won 1st place, the gold medal winner of the 6th CHINA INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION. Mr. Christopher Zhong has founded the Across-Pacific Piano Competition and summer piano camp for international young pianists since 2007. It runs bi-annually in Riverside,Los Angeles. The Festival was jointly sponsored by Clarisse B. Kampel Foundation and Steinway & sons.
Christopher Zhong recently recorded for Steinway Spirio piano in New York City. He is also the main editor for Shanghai Conservatory Piano Grading Exam Books for the years of 2020 and 2006.
